Doris’ Birthday
by: jeanie
Just a quick note to remind everyone that Doris’ (65th) birthday is coming up on the 22nd. I know she would be happy to hear from you (either by phone or card)! We are going to have a SURPRISE party for her on the 22nd at Mary’s new place. If you are reading this and can make it, let me know. I will get you more details. If you can’t make it, it would be nice if you could send her a card. I know she would love it!
Talk to you soon!
Love Always
Jeanie

Thank you Jeanie for spilling the beans!!!! Of course I owe you at least that for all you’ve done to help me in this “interesting” phase of my life!
Yes, Frieden’s, I have rented a cute little old house on West 4th St in Muscatine—-just a few blocks from the river—oh-h-h river bugs, I didn’t think of that!
Anyway, Anna, Angie Dog and I moved in to this “transitional” home January 2nd—-oh, and Doris was our first over-night guest! We are in Iowa for an undetermined time—only God knows at this point. The two older girls opted to stay in Colorado with Bill. Nothing is written in stone, but our legal separation will be final in early February. I plan to be here until God makes it clear to go somewhere else—you know, the cloud or pillar will have to move first.
It is so wonderful to be here with strong support at this time. And, how exciting to visit Jeanie or Donna and have my own bed to go home to that night! What a difference—we’re loving it.
Hope this finds all of you well and happy. We are in Jeanie’s kitchen again tonight to share with Beason Joe in the hopefully delightful Denver Bronco game tonight. More on that later.
Love to all, Mary

Welcome back home, Mary!
It has been a thrill to gift her my “vintage/ gently used” extras. I can now visit her and see why God allowed me to preserve so much over the years. I have my house on a diet and the weight it sheds is making Mary’s precious 2 story “HOME” look healthy and complete. Mary has always had a flare with decorating, cooking, and putting on that special touch. I know you will all love it. Don’t forget to bring a housewarming gift so you too can be a part of making this little home special for her and Anna.
I hope you all get an opportunity to watch her work food magic in her vintage kitchen! If you are in the area you will want to stop by for a minute or so. I’m sure she will insist you stay for a meal. Then, much like Mom and Jeanie, she will whip up a feast from this and that and you will feel like visiting royalty. I have enjoyed 2 such evenings already. The other evening we had just finished a lovely meal (with hot from the oven bread and homemade chili) when in popped Jeanie and Joe. It was a step back in time when everyone would flock to the farm and gather in Mom’s Kitchen.
It is a dream come true having “the 4 sisters” within 10 miles of each other. We have been enjoying spur or the moment shopping trips, breakfast in Amana, today a bridal show, and on and on……… Virg just loves it when “the girls stop by”. It isn’t long till we are munching on something and laughing and talking, AND BEST OF ALL hauling things out of the our house to her house.
We have seen Anna and Doris become buddies. This became very apparent one evening when Anna asked “for her own Duke Boys DVD”. Doris now has a real “Duke Boys Buddy”. Doris and Dad always watched that together.
Hope you all get to come to “Mary’s new home” soon.
Best wishes,
Donna
